NZ Story and the Welcome Widget

We just completed a refresh of The NZ Story website that runs on top of the Brandkit platform for our awesome client, NZ Story Group.

The NZ Story is a free NZ Government funded resource for New Zealand Exporting companies.

There's a bunch of changes to the site, new insights and new toolkit content.

Kia ora - a friendlier welcome back

One of the things the NZ Story managers wanted,  was a way to welcome returning users with a link to the latest Blog post and to the latest Assets.

They also wanted to only show this to logged in users (returning users), new visitors to the site (or logged out users) see an initial introduction to the site titled: KO TĀTOU NEI - IT'S WHO WE ARE.
 

So the Brandkit crew built a wee widget to do the trick.

You can see it in action at the NZ Story website (you'll need to be logged in to see it - registration is free).

It can:

• Show the title and date of last or latest blog posts with link to the relevant Post.
  
• Show the date the latest Asset was added with link to view the most recent Assets.        
  

It's a small thing. But helpful for returning users and it's the little thoughtful things... that can make a difference, eh.
